Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) Panel with Reflex to Rheumatoid Factors, IgA, IgG, and IgM by ELISA
Also known as: RA PNL R
Use
The Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) Panel with Reflex to Rheumatoid Factors, IgA, IgG, and IgM by ELISA aids in the workup of suspected rheumatoid arthritis or undifferentiated inflammatory arthritides. The presence of these antibodies can indicate future RA development and predict radiographic joint destruction. The test helps determine the prognosis by performing rheumatoid factors IgA, IgG, and IgM if anticyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP) IgG or rheumatoid factor is positive.
Special Instructions
Fasting specimen is preferred for the collection of the serum. Serum separator tube (SST) is used for collection; allow serum to clot completely at room temperature before centrifuging, then transfer 1 mL serum to an ARUP standard transport tube.
Limitations
This test has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration and is intended for clinical purposes in a CLIA-certified laboratory. Unacceptable conditions include contaminated, heat-inactivated, hemolyzed, icteric, or severely lipemic specimens. Stability after separation from cells is: Ambient for 24 hours, Refrigerated for 1 week, and Frozen for 1 month (should not be thawed more than once).
