ANA, IFA, Cascade and Rheumatoid Arthritis Panel 2, with Reflexes
Also known as: Rheumatic disease, Early Rheumatoid Arthritis, Autoimmune Disorders, Early Autoimmune Disease, Antinuclear Antibody Screen
Use
This integrated panel is an automatic reflex test designed to facilitate timely diagnosis of rheumatic and autoimmune diseases. It begins with an ANA screen by IFA and, if positive, reflexes through a tiered cascade of specific autoantibody testing to maximize sensitivity and specificity. The Rheumatoid Arthritis Panel 2 component includes testing for rheumatoid factor (RF), cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibody, and mutated citrullinated vimentin (MCV) antibody. This combination improves diagnostic sensitivity for early rheumatoid arthritis and aids in detecting systemic lupus erythematosus, mixed connective tissue disease, Sjögren syndrome, systemic sclerosis, polymyositis/dermatomyositis, CREST syndrome, and neuropsychiatric SLE.
