Use
Immunohistochemical stain for the N‑terminus of Wilms Tumor 1 (WT‑1) protein, useful as a technical service (stain‑and‑return) to assist in diagnosing entities such as Wilms tumor and distinguishing tumor types based on nuclear protein expression patterns.
Special Instructions
Technical service only (“stain and return”). Electronic request recommended. If electronic ordering is unavailable, use ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) with ARUP client number. Refer to ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Offerings brochure.
Limitations
Only applicable to tissue or cellblock specimens; non‑representative tissue types or depleted specimens are unacceptable. Precut slides should not be oven‑baked. Frozen specimens unacceptable. Interpretation limited to technical staining; final interpretation requires pathologist.

Collection Instructions
Formalin fix (10 percent neutral buffered formalin) and paraffin embed specimen (cells must be prepared into a cellblock); transport tissue block or 5 unstained positively charged slides (min: 2 slides) in tissue transport kit ARUP #47808; if precut slides, do not oven bake.
Storage Instructions
Protect from excessive heat; transport at room temperature or refrigerated; ship in cooled container during summer.
