Invitae DNA Damage Repair Panel
Use
The Invitae DNA Damage Repair (DDR) Panel analyzes genes in the DDR pathway, including homologous recombination repair (HRR) genes, related to cancer types like prostate, breast, ovarian, and pancreatic. This analysis helps identify therapeutic options and informs cancer risks for relatives. Genetic testing may confirm a hereditary cancer syndrome diagnosis and guide treatment decisions while also identifying at-risk relatives for early detection and diagnostic evaluation.
Special Instructions
This test is designed for heritable germline variants and is not suitable for detecting somatic variants in tumor tissue. The analysis includes full-gene sequencing and deletion/duplication analysis via NGS, covering clinically important gene regions and select non-coding variants. Potential analytical limitations are detailed in the report, and client services can address questions.
Limitations
The assay might not detect certain structural variants like inversions, translocations, or variants in complex sequence architectures. Detection sensitivity for insertions and deletions larger than 15bp may be marginally reduced. It does not cover promoter sequences, non-coding exons, or non-coding regions unless specified. DNA from circulating neoplasms or transfusions may not represent the constitutional genome.
