Auto-Crossmatch
Also known as: Flow Crossmatch, HLA Crossmatch, T-Cell and B-Cell Crossmatch
Use
Detection of the presence of autoantibodies (HLA) in a solid organ recipient. T- and B-cell crossmatch detects the presence of anti-Class I/Class II HLA antibodies in the patient.
Special Instructions
To schedule this test, you must telephone 800-533-1037, HLA customer service. Testing schedules may vary, so it is recommended to confirm the schedule ahead of the sample collection.
Limitations
This test primarily detects antibodies to HLA, but other non-HLA specific antibodies could also lead to positive T- and/or B-cell crossmatches. It only demonstrates antibodies that recognize donor antigens and cannot differentiate between clinically relevant antibodies, such as those that bind complement, and those without clinical significance. The assay detects IgG antidonor antibodies but not IgM or other immunoglobulin subclasses.
