Complement C3a
Also known as: acylation stimulation factor, Complement C3a des-Arginine
Use
This test is used for the measurement of complement C3a and C3a-desArg levels in serum.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by Labcorp; it has not been FDA cleared or approved. Results shouldn't be used diagnostically without confirmation from other procedures. Elevated C3a is not predictive of specific diseases, normal pregnancy elevates C3a, and complement activation must be minimized during sample handling to prevent in vitro activation.
