Fescue, Meadow
Also known as: Meadow Fescue
Use
The Fescue, Meadow test measures the level of specific IgE antibodies to Meadow Fescue in the patient's serum. Elevated specific IgE levels can indicate allergic sensitization, which assists clinicians in diagnosing allergies related to this grass species. The test is used to support the diagnosis of allergic diseases, enabling targeted management and treatment based on individual allergic profiles.
Special Instructions
Specimens should be collected in a red-top or gel-barrier tube. Ensure proper specimen volume and stability conditions are met to ensure accurate results.
Limitations
This test quantitates specific IgE antibodies to Fescue, Meadow and does not test for other allergens. Cross-reactivity with similar allergens can occur. Analytical sensitivity and specificity may vary, and results should be considered in the context of clinical presentation and other diagnostic testing.
