Heroin Metabolite (6-AM), Screen and Confirmation, Urine
Use
Detect and confirm the presence of heroin metabolite (6-acetylmorphine). Note: 6-Acetylmorphine [6-AM] has a short half-life and is further metabolized to morphine. It is most likely to be detected within the first 24 hours following heroin use. Consequently, specimens collected more than 24 hours post dose may test negative for 6-AM.
Special Instructions
This assay is specifically designed for pain management and is not intended or compliant with workplace testing or state regulatory workplace testing programs.
Limitations
The primary limitation of this test is the short detection window for 6-acetylmorphine due to its short half-life, which could result in false negatives if the specimen is collected more than 24 hours after heroin use. There may also be variability in metabolism rates among individuals, affecting detectability. The test is not suitable for workplace testing compliance.
