IgE Fusarium proliferatum
Use
The IgE Fusarium proliferatum test is used to detect specific IgE antibodies to the allergen Fusarium proliferatum in the serum. This helps in diagnosing and managing allergic conditions possibly associated with this mold species, which can cause respiratory issues in sensitized individuals. IgE testing is an important tool in evaluating allergic responses to Fusarium proliferatum, assisting in the identification of potential allergens which could be contributing to a patient's symptoms.
Special Instructions
Use a red-top tube or gel-barrier tube for specimen collection. Ensure specimen stability by maintaining the recommended storage conditions, and avoid exceeding the number of allowed freeze/thaw cycles to ensure result accuracy. Consider additional time for reflex or confirmatory testing which may be required.
Limitations
Results are intended for use as a diagnostic aid only and should not be used as the sole criterion for clinical decisions. Cross-reactivity with other fungal allergens may occur, and results should be interpreted in the context of the patient's clinical history and other diagnostic findings. Testing for specific IgE to Fusarium proliferatum does not quantify the degree of allergy or predict the severity of allergic reactions. Interference from heterophile antibodies or other substances may lead to false results. Ambient or sample handling conditions that do not meet stability requirements could affect the analytical performance of the assay.
