Myeloproliferative Neoplasms/Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (MPN/CML), FISH
Also known as: Leukemia/Lymphoma-specific FISH, Myeloproliferative Neoplasms
Use
Confirmation/identification of chromosome abnormalities in interphase nuclei. Leukemia monitoring of residual disease.
Special Instructions
Include pertinent clinical diagnosis and previous cytogenetic studies on the test request form. It is important to ensure the sample does not overheat or freeze during transport to maintain integrity.
Limitations
This test will not detect molecular mutations or chromosomal alterations not targeted by the probes included in this profile. The analysis is restricted to abnormalities detectable by the specific probes used, and the results should be interpreted within the context of a full cytogenetic analysis and hematologic evaluation. This test is developed by Labcorp and is not cleared or approved by the FDA.
