Natural Killer Cell Surface Antigen (CD3-CD56+ Marker Analysis)
Use
Determine levels of natural killer cells in circulation; monitor immune stimulation therapy
Special Instructions
To preserve cellular viability, collect the specimen so it will arrive in the laboratory within 48 hours of collection. Indicate the date and time of venipuncture on the tube(s) and on the test request form.
Limitations
The test is dependent on the viability of the collected specimen. It requires specific collection methods to ensure accurate results, as improper handling or delay in transport may render the specimen unusable. Specimens that have been refrigerated, frozen, clotted, or contaminated will be rejected due to compromised integrity.
