Use
IBD Precis is a comprehensive nine antibody panel targeting microbial and autoantigen markers, analyzed through a proprietary algorithm. It reduces diagnostic uncertainty and supports early intervention and personalized management in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It distinguishes IBD from non-IBD with 80% sensitivity and 67-79% specificity, differentiates Crohn's disease (CD) from ulcerative colitis (UC) with 92% sensitivity and 73-83% specificity, provides insights on risk complications, and identifies colonic or ileal involvement.
Special Instructions
IBD Precis complements endoscopic evaluation and informs intervention strategies. It is part of the Prometheus continuum of care for IBD patients, performed exclusively in a high complexity CLIA certified and CAP accredited laboratory.
Limitations
As a laboratory-developed test, IBD Precis has not been cleared or approved by the US FDA. It is designed to analyze serology patterns to identify IBD but may not detect all forms of IBD due to its reliance on serologic markers. It is important to use this test in conjunction with clinical evaluation and other diagnostic tools.
