Cauliflower (f291) IgE
Also known as: ImmunoCAP®
Use
This test measures the presence of allergen‑specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies to cauliflower (allergen code f291) in serum. It is used to aid in the diagnosis of cauliflower allergy and guide dietary management in sensitized patients. Results may support clinical correlation in cases of suspected food allergy.
Special Instructions
No special preparation is required prior to collection. Fasting is not required. Specimen: serum via blood draw.
Limitations
A positive specific IgE result indicates sensitization but does not necessarily confirm clinical allergy. False positives may occur due to cross-reactivity with other Brassicaceae vegetables (e.g., cabbage, broccoli). Clinical correlation is required.
