Cucumber (f244) IgE
Also known as: ImmunoCAP®
Use
Measures immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies specific to cucumber (f244), used to identify allergic sensitization to cucumber. An elevated IgE level indicates a potential Type I hypersensitivity reaction to cucumber ingestion or exposure, aiding clinicians in diagnosing food allergies and guiding avoidance strategies.
Special Instructions
No special preparation required prior to blood sample collection.
Limitations
This test detects sensitization via IgE antibodies to cucumber, but clinical correlation is required; sensitization does not always equate to clinical allergy, and results should be interpreted alongside patient history and symptoms.
