FISH, APL, PML/RARA, Translocation 15,17
Also known as: Acute Promyelocyticleukemia, FISH-Acute Promyelocyticleukemia, Promyelocytic Leukemia
Use
This FISH assay detects the t(15;17)(PML‑RARA) translocation, which is diagnostic for acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) and is required to predict response to all‑trans‑retinoic acid and arsenic trioxide therapy. It is also used for monitoring therapeutic response, minimal residual disease (MRD), and early relapse, and reflex testing with a RARA break‑apart probe identifies variant RARA rearrangements when morphology is suspicious but t(15;17) is negative.
