This panel evaluates for IgG antibodies against gangliosides associated with Miller Fisher syndrome, a variant of Guillain-Barré syndrome characterized by external ophthalmoplegia, ataxia, and areflexia. The presence of GQ1b IgG antibodies is highly associated with MFS, present in approximately 85–90% of patients. The panel includes testing for other ganglioside antibodies (GD1a, GD1b, GM1), which may aid in differential diagnosis of related neuropathies.
