NAFLD Fibrosis Score
Use
The NAFLD Fibrosis Score is a validated, noninvasive tool to identify patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), also known as metabolic dysfunction‑associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), who may have advanced liver fibrosis. It combines selected laboratory values—serum glucose, platelet count, AST, ALT, albumin—with patient characteristics such as age, body mass index, and diabetes status to assess fibrosis risk; scores above 0.676 indicate likely advanced fibrosis, while those below −1.455 exclude advanced fibrosis, with intermediate values considered indeterminate.
