Respiratory Allergy Profile Region II: DC, DE, MD, NC, VA
Also known as: ImmunoCAP®
Use
This is a regional respiratory allergy panel using ImmunoCAP IgE blood testing to identify environmental allergen triggers common in Washington, DC; Delaware; Maryland; North Carolina; and Virginia. It measures specific IgE responses to molds, grasses, trees, weeds, and indoor allergens to help clinicians determine environmental causes of allergic respiratory symptoms and guide avoidance or immunotherapy strategies.
Special Instructions
Regional profiles are tailored based on geography and use a single blood draw. No special preparation is required according to available information. Blacklisted in some states (e.g., NY) for consumer ordering; refer to clinician ordering channels.
Limitations
Interpretation is limited to specific IgE detection and does not differentiate sensitization from clinical allergy. The panel includes a fixed list of regional allergens and may not cover all relevant exposures. As a single blood draw test, it avoids skin testing but does not provide challenge or functional testing.
