Antigen-specific IgG and IgM titers allow rapid diagnosis of infection by spotted fever group rickettsial agents, including R. rickettsii (Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever) and R. akari (rickettsial pox) in the United States.
Special Instructions
If IgG or IgM antibodies are detected, the appropriate titer will be reflexively performed at an additional charge.
Limitations
Even after infection has been treated, positive results may persist. False-positive reactions may occur during pregnancy.
