Allergen, Food, Chicken IgG
Also known as: CHICK IGG
Use
This test measures the IgG antibodies specific to chicken allergens in the serum. It is intended to assess the presence of IgG antibodies that may indicate exposure to chicken allergens. This test can be utilized to understand allergen-specific IgG levels, which can be considered in the context of clinical evaluation of allergic reactions but are not typically used for the diagnosis of clinical allergy or sensitivity.
Special Instructions
The test is not approved for sale in New York, and submissions from New York state are not permitted. It is suitable for patient samples outside of New York.
Limitations
The test is not FDA cleared or approved but was developed and performance characteristics were determined by ARUP Laboratories under CLIA certification for clinical purposes. IgG allergen testing is not recommended for the diagnosis of food allergy, as IgG antibodies may be present in individuals without clinical allergy symptoms.
