Use
The PIN4 Prostate Triple Stain by Immunohistochemistry is utilized in the evaluation of prostate tissue. This test helps in the differential diagnosis of prostate cancer by assessing the presence or absence of specific markers such as p504S, p63, and 34βE12. It aims to distinguish between benign and malignant prostate tissues, providing valuable information for clinical decision-making.
Special Instructions
This test is performed solely as a stain and return technical service. Electronic requests must be submitted, and if unavailable, the ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) should be used with an ARUP client number. Limitations

Collection Instructions
Formalin fix (10 percent neutral buffered formalin) and paraffin embed specimen (cells must be prepared into a cellblock). Protect paraffin block and/or slides from excessive heat.
Storage Instructions
Transport at room temperature. Refrigerated shipping is also acceptable during summer months.
Causes for Rejection
Specimens submitted with non-representative tissue type. Depleted specimens.
