Oncology FISH Analysis – STAT Comprehensive MDS/AML FISH Panel is designed to detect chromosomal abnormalities associated with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) that are significant for diagnosis and prognosis. These disorders primarily affect adults. AML may originate from bone marrow and spread throughout the body, leading to serious complications. MDS could evolve into AML, causing increased susceptibility to infections and bleeding due to dysfunctional blood cell production. Draw bone marrow in a Sodium Heparin (green-top) tube(s).

Storage Instructions

Ship at ambient temperature (18-25°C/64-77°F) in an insulated container by overnight courier. Specimen should arrive in the laboratory within 48 hrs of collection. Do not heat or freeze.
