FISH, MDS/Myeloid Panel, -5/5q-, -7/7q-, +8, 20q-
Also known as: Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML), Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), Myeloproliferative Disorders (MPD)
Use
Prognostic investigation in patients with myelodysplasia or other myeloid malignancies; among patients with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), approximately 45–50% have at least one chromosome rearrangement detectable by this FISH panel (–5/5q–, –7/7q–, +8, 20q–), improving detection at diagnosis and aiding in follow-up testing for clinically significant chromosomal abnormalities; identification of the specific affected chromosome regions may be significant for treatment decisions as MDS-targeted therapies are developed.
Special Instructions
Clinical history/reason for referral is required with the test order; prior therapy and transplant history should be provided.
