Anti-Jo-1 Ab (RDL)
Also known as: Histidyl tRNA synthetase, Jo 1
Use
Jo-1 antibodies are found in approximately 20% of adult patients with myositis (including polymyositis, dermatomyositis and overlap syndromes) and particularly common (about 60%) in patients with both myositis and interstitial lung disease (cryptogenic fibrosing aveolitis or pulmonary interstitial fibrosis).
Special Instructions
This test is a component of several profiles including Myomarker 3 Profile, Myomarker 3 Plus Profile, Interstitial Lung Disease Panel I, Interstitial Lung Disease Panel II, ILDx Complete, and Anti-Synthetase Profile.
Limitations
The test's limitations are not explicitly mentioned, but it typically pertains to its specificity in detection of the Jo-1 antibodies, which may not detect antibodies present below the assay's sensitivity limit. Cross-reactivity with other autoantibodies or biological noise in certain patient populations may also affect result interpretation.
