Anti-MPO Ab (RDL)
Use
Anti-MPO autoantibodies aid in assessment of certain autoimmune vasculitides such as microscopic polyarteritis and crescentic glomerulonephritis. MPO is the main target antigen of the antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibodies (ANCA) that give a perinuclear (pANCA) pattern on immunofluorescence.
Special Instructions
Separate serum from cells within one hour of collection. Transfer to a plastic transport tube before shipping. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
Limitations
Turnaround time may be extended in the case where additional confirmatory or reflex tests are performed. Additionally, specific conditions of the specimen such as hemolysis, lipemia, bacterial contamination, and other non-serum specimen types could lead to rejection.
