Anti-TPO Ab (RDL)
Also known as: Anti-Thyroid Microsomal Peroxidase Ab, Thyroid peroxidaseantibodies, TPO, TPO Ab
Use
In virtually all cases of Hashimoto’s disease and in the majority of Graves’ disease cases, Anti-TPO autoantibodies are elevated. High levels of Anti-TPO autoantibodies, in the context of the clinical presentation of hypothyroidism, confirms the diagnosis of Hashimoto’s disease.
