Celiac Antibodies Profile tTG IgA, tTG IgG, DGP IgA, DGP IgG, and Total IgA
Also known as: Deamidated Gliadin Antibodies (DGP), Gliadin, Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG)
Use
Aid in the diagnosis of gluten-sensitive enteropathies
Special Instructions
This test includes measurements of deamidated gliadin IgA and IgG, tissue transglutaminase (tTG) IgA and IgG, and serum IgA quantitation. It is important for patients to strictly avoid gluten in their diet to control disease activity.
Limitations
The test is highly specific for gluten-sensitive enteropathy, as endomysial IgA antibodies demonstrated in the test are noted to have over 99% specificity for this condition. However, for conclusive diagnosis, additional factors and confirmatory tests could be required based on individual patient conditions and symptoms.
