This panel assists in the diagnosis or differentiation of celiac disease by detecting antibodies commonly associated with the condition—specifically tissue transglutaminase (tTG) IgA and total Immunoglobulin A (IgA). It helps distinguish celiac disease from other inflammatory bowel diseases and facilitates early identification of gluten sensitivity, particularly in children. An IgA measurement also helps identify potential IgA deficiency that could lead to false-negative tTG IgA results.
