Tissue Transglutaminase (tTG), IgG
Use
Detection of antibodies to aid in the diagnosis of gluten-sensitive enteropathy (GSE), such as celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis
Special Instructions
Results of this assay should be used in conjunction with clinical findings and other serological tests. The test should be conducted considering that the presence of IgG class autoantibodies is crucial in circumstances where celiac patients are IgA deficient.
Limitations
A negative result from this test does not necessarily rule out the presence of celiac disease. The interpretation should consider the potential for IgA deficiency in patients. It is recommended to corroborate results with additional clinical findings and serological tests for a comprehensive diagnosis.
