Chromium, Urine
Also known as: Cr, Urine
Use
Monitor industrial exposure to chromium
Special Instructions
No preservatives should be used in the collection container, as they may interfere with the test results. For accurate results when testing for metals, ensure a separate urine specimen is collected without additives. Sampling should be done during or at the end of the work shift or week for industrial exposure contexts.
Limitations
The test is developed by LabCorp and its performance characteristics are determined internally. It has not been cleared or approved by the FDA, indicating that results might need further confirmation by additional testing or examination. Results may be affected by mercury-based preservatives, which are commonly used in other urine analysis.
