G006-IgE Timothy Grass
Use
The G006-IgE Timothy Grass test is used for the detection of IgE antibodies specific to Timothy Grass allergen. This test helps in diagnosing and managing allergies by identifying specific allergen triggers. It is particularly useful in evaluating patients with suspected grass pollen allergies which are common triggers for seasonal allergic rhinitis and allergic asthma.
Special Instructions
Ensure the specimen is collected in a red-top or gel-barrier tube to optimize results. Utilize the stability of the sample at room temperature, which lasts up to 14 days, or refrigerated, also up to 14 days. For long-term storage, freeze the specimen, where it remains stable for up to 3 months, withstanding up to three freeze/thaw cycles.
Limitations
The G006-IgE Timothy Grass test focuses on detecting specific IgE levels to Timothy Grass pollen. It does not measure other IgE antibodies that might be relevant in a comprehensive allergy workup. False positives or negatives are possible if the IgE levels are close to the threshold of the class ranges. Results should be used in conjunction with clinical evaluation and additional allergy tests to comprehensively assess allergic conditions.
