Immunoglobulin G, Subclass 3
Also known as: IgG Subclass 3, IgG3
Use
Evaluate immunodeficiency syndromes; evaluate recurrent sinusitis and otitis media
Special Instructions
It is important to state the patient's age on the request form to ensure the reference range is applied correctly. The reported results can vary greatly with age, and having this information is crucial for accurate interpretation.
Limitations
This procedure is not suitable for samples containing rheumatoid factor, paraproteins, other circulating immune complexes (CICs), or for lipemic or hemolyzed samples due to the unpredictable degree of nonspecific light scatter these sample types may generate. Additionally, the results from measuring IgG subclasses should not be used in assessing atopy in allergic patients.
