Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) targeting centromere of chromosome 12 (CEP 12) is used to detect trisomy 12 in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), providing prognostic information relevant for diagnosis and disease monitoring.
Special Instructions
Clinical history or reason for referral is required at test order; prior therapy and transplant history should also be provided. Viability decreases during transit; specimen must not be frozen. Do not reject unless viability is determined poor. Transport at room temperature.
