Food Allergy Profile with Reflexes
Also known as: ImmunoCAP®
Use
This panel measures immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies in the blood in response to common food allergens, helping in determining sensitization and guiding potential allergy diagnosis. Reflex testing to egg, milk, or peanut component panels is automatically performed when IgE levels are above threshold, increasing specificity of results. Results must be interpreted alongside clinical history and other diagnostic methods by a healthcare provider.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
Presence of IgE antibodies alone does not confirm clinical allergy or reaction severity; results must be integrated with clinical history and other diagnostic tests such as skin-prick tests. Age eligibility applies (10–100 years); certain patient populations may require additional counselling.
