IgE Antibody (Anti‑IgE IgG)
Also known as: Chronic Urticaria
Use
Autoimmune chronic urticaria is characterized by autoantibodies—either IgG to the high‑affinity IgE receptor (FcεRIα) or to IgE itself—which trigger mast cell and basophil degranulation. Functional anti‑IgE autoantibodies are identified in approximately 5–10% of patients, and IgG to the receptor in 30–40%. This assay quantifies anti‑IgE autoantibodies to aid in diagnosis and management of autoimmune chronic urticaria.
