Mitogen‑induced Lymphocyte Proliferation Panel
Use
Measures lymphocyte (T‑cell) proliferative function in response to mitogenic stimulation using phytohemagglutinin (PHA), concanavalin A (Con A), and pokeweed mitogen (PWM). This assessment assists in evaluating T‑cell mediated immunity and diagnosing potential immunodeficiency syndromes, including severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), common variable immunodeficiency (CVID), and DiGeorge syndrome, as well as monitoring immunosuppressive therapy effects.

Limitations
Results may be influenced by specimen handling time and cell viability. Delay in processing, low lymphocyte counts, or poor sample quality can yield unreliable or diminished proliferation responses. Results require comparison against control specimens processed under similar conditions.
