Use

This test measures the percentage (and sometimes absolute count) of reticulocytes—immature red blood cells containing residual RNA—to assess bone marrow erythropoietic activity. It is clinically valuable in evaluating anemia types (e.g., hemolytic or hemorrhagic), bone marrow response to therapy, and overall hematologic disorders.
