Thyroid Cancer (Thyroglobulin) Monitoring
Also known as: Thyroglobulin Antibody, Thyroglobulin Tumor Markers, Thyroglobulin (Tg)
Clinical Use
Order TestUse
Measurement of thyroglobulin (Tg) is primarily used to monitor patients with well‑differentiated thyroid cancer following thyroidectomy and ablation, especially to detect residual or recurrent disease. When thyroglobulin autoantibodies (TgAb) are present, an LC/MS/MS method is used to accurately quantify Tg levels that may be underestimated by immunoassay methods.
