Allergens, Food, Profile 19
Also known as: FOODPRO 19
Use
The food allergen profile 19 test helps identify specific food allergens that the patient may be sensitive to by detecting allergen-specific IgE antibodies. It includes a range of common food items such as milk, eggs, and peanuts, providing valuable information for the diagnosis and management of food allergies. The test results should be interpreted in conjunction with the patient's clinical history and symptoms to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment decisions.
Special Instructions
It is important that specimen tubes are not shared among different patients and serum should be separated from cells as soon as possible or within two hours of collection. Adequate serum volume should be ensured for accurate testing.
Limitations
The test measures the IgE antibody levels but does not quantify the severity of clinical reactions. Individuals with undetected levels of allergens might still experience allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis. Results indicating low allergen levels may have undetermined clinical relevance and should be considered with the patient's clinical history and in vivo responses.
