T‑cell Intracytoplasmic Antigen (TIA‑1) by Immunohistochemistry
Also known as: TIA1 IHC
Use
This test performs immunohistochemical staining for T‑cell Intracytoplasmic Antigen‑1 (TIA‑1), a cytotoxic T‑cell marker, to aid in the identification and characterization of T‑cell and NK‑cell neoplasms. It is utilized as a technical stain only and does not include interpretive pathological consultation.
Special Instructions
Submit as a technical 'stain‑and‑return' (technical only) service; electronic ordering is preferred, or use ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form #32978 if electronic ordering is not available. Transport using ARUP tissue transport kit (supply #47808). Protect paraffin block/slides from excessive heat; do not oven bake precut slides.
Limitations
Specimens fixed other than 10% neutral buffered formalin or improperly prepared slides (e.g., oven‑baked) may yield inadequate staining. Specimens must be representative; depleted or non‑representative tissue is unacceptable. Frozen specimens are unacceptable.
