Aspergillus Precipitating Antibodies, IgG
Use
Detection of Aspergillus IgG Precipitins
Special Instructions
The test includes identifying IgG antibodies for Aspergillus species prevalent in pulmonary diseases, such as Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus glaucus, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus nidulans, and Aspergillus terreus.
Limitations
Diagnosing specific Aspergillus-related conditions can be challenging, especially in patients with chronic lung disease, as symptoms may overlap between categories like ABPA and CPA. In CPA cases, Aspergillus IgG may not be detected despite clinical indications. Additionally, while this assay covers many species, other untested species might contribute to diseases in certain populations.
