Special Instructions
To preserve cellular viability, collect specimen so it will arrive in the laboratory within 48 hours of collection. Indicate date and time of venipuncture on the tube(s) and on the test request form.
Limitations
The test provides immunophenotyping by flow cytometry which involves detecting antigenic determinants using antigen-specific monoclonal antibodies labeled with a fluorescent dye. It's a complex technology with potential variations due to specimen handling, processing times, and storage conditions. Specimen integrity is critical for accurate results, and rejection may occur due to issues like hemolysis, clotting, or being older than 48 hours from the time of draw.
