Immunoglobulin G, Subclass 2
Also known as: IgG Subclass 2, IgG2
Use
Evaluate antipolysaccharide antibodies, sinopulmonary infections, immunodeficiency syndrome, and patients who demonstrate a poor response to carbohydrate antigens (group A strep, pneumococcus)
Special Instructions
State patient's age on the request form. It is crucial for the accuracy of the reference interval used for interpretation.
Limitations
The procedure is not suitable for the measurement of samples containing rheumatoid factor, paraproteins, or other circulating immune complexes due to nonspecific light scatter these sample types may generate. Additionally, this test should not be used in assessing atopy in allergic patients, and lipemic or hemolyzed samples could produce unreliable results.
