Pecan Nut
Use
The Pecan Nut test is designed to measure the level of specific IgE antibodies to pecan nuts in the serum. This test is helpful in diagnosing IgE-mediated allergy to pecan nuts. It can provide information useful for assessing allergic sensitivity in patients with suspected pecan nut allergy.
Special Instructions
Not provided.
Limitations
This test determines the presence of IgE antibodies specific to pecan nuts but does not predict the severity of an allergic reaction. False positives can occur, and results should be interpreted in conjunction with clinical evaluation. It does not directly measure allergenic activity and can't be used to rule out non-IgE-mediated allergic reactions.
