Adenovirus, IHC with Interpretation
Also known as: Immuno Histo Chemistry
Use
Identifies adenovirus in FFPE tissue via immunohistochemical staining of formalin‑fixed, paraffin‑embedded (FFPE) blocks or slides, with pathologist interpretation provided.
Special Instructions
Submit a formalin‑fixed, paraffin‑embedded block in an IHC specimen transport kit, or 5 unstained positively charged slides (minimum 3 slides). Include the associated surgical pathology report. Slides and blocks have defined stability; frozen specimens are unacceptable. Control tissue must contain tumor; specimens without tumor are rejected.
Limitations
Frozen specimens are unacceptable. Specimens lacking tumor in the block or slides are rejected. Use of other fixatives may not yield equivalent results. Interpretation should occur in context of clinical history and additional diagnostic data.
