Aquaporin‑4 (AQP4) (NMO‑IgG) Antibody with Reflex to Titer, Serum
Also known as: Transverse Myelitis Antibody, AQP4, NMO antibody, Aquaporin, LETM antibody
Clinical Use
Order TestUse
Detection of serum aquaporin‑4 (AQP4) IgG autoantibodies is clinically significant for the diagnosis of neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD), also known as Devic’s disease. A positive AQP4-IgG result supports differentiation from other demyelinating diseases such as multiple sclerosis. Reflex to titer when positive provides semiquantitative analysis to assist in disease evaluation and monitoring.
