Use
Giardia is a protozoan that can cause diarrhea. Infection occurs after ingestion of contaminated food or water. Antigen detection is considered an alternative to stool examination. Included in gastrointestinal parasite diagnostic testing alternatives to microscopy-based stool parasitic exams like OPE (Ova & Parasite Examination). Used when giardiasis is specifically suspected, including outbreak scenarios.

Collection Instructions
