Mycoplasma pneumoniae Antibody (IgG)
Also known as: pneumoniae IgG, Mycoplasma IgG
Use
Mycoplasma are the smallest free‑living organisms; M. pneumoniae causes approximately 10–20% of all pneumonia cases, commonly referred to as “walking” or “atypical” pneumonia. Detection of IgG antibodies helps indicate prior or current exposure to M. pneumoniae.

Not provided.
Limitations
IgM antibody testing is valuable for early diagnosis in children; in adults, paired sera for both specific IgG and IgM are generally required, often alongside PCR testing. Specific IgM antibodies may be absent in reinfections; measuring IgA may be useful in such circumstances.
