Use
The Gastrin, 2 Minute test is used to measure the level of gastrin in the blood. This can help diagnose conditions related to abnormal hormone production such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Special Instructions
It is recommended that the patient fast for 12 hours prior to specimen collection to ensure accurate results.
Limitations
The Gastrin, 2 Minute test may yield inaccurate results if the patient has not fasted as recommended or if the specimen is lipemic or hemolyzed. Additionally, plasma, tissue, or urine samples are not acceptable, as they may affect the test results' validity.
