Use
This test provides immunohistochemical staining for myosin in tissue specimens or cell blocks, serving as a technical stain-and-return service primarily used in pathological analysis of muscle or related lesions. It aids in identifying myosin presence and distribution, useful in evaluating muscle differentiation or tumors.
Special Instructions
Submit an electronic request or use ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Form (#32978) if e-ordering is unavailable. Refer to ARUP Immunohistochemistry Stain Offerings brochure. Transport specimen in ARUP tissue transport kit (#47808), available via eSupply/ARUP Connect or via Client Services. Do not oven bake precut slides.
Limitations
Unacceptable specimens include non-representative tissue types or depleted specimens. Frozen specimens are unacceptable. Slides must be formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded; excessive heat damage must be avoided.
